So, finally, full reference on LD.
In the upper raw of coloured portraits, to Acrises right, there are characters who are originally NOT loupdrakes ;3 I wonder if you can guess, who they are.

UPD. with some general information.

Loupdrakes are intelligent creatures, and intellectually are on the same level with humans, or higher - that is due to their mentality. Basically you can compare the Loupdrake race with race of altruistic people - somewhat light-minded though, if speaking of the young X) OF COURSE, personalities may be extremely different - well, just as it goes with people - but being tolerant, humane and altruistic is a general tendency among ld.
For example, Rage is an explosive, tricky and light-minded young dummy, he often acts recklessly and is really quick to get seriously angry, but he is a soft and sympathetic guy by his nature and never does he wish someone harm sincerely - while he would willingly help others (not neccessarily someone he knows), even without being asked to do so and never asking or even thinking of some kind of "reward" for his actions. He can't be indifferent to other person if he sees that he or she is in trouble and he can't stand seeing people being indifferent to each other.
In general, young (that is till, about, 40-50 years) ld tend to be light-minded and quite irresponsible lively and optimistic things. They often act rashly, following their emotions and immediate impulses - once again, Rage had gotten himself in serious troubles due to that impulsiveness of his, for atleast three times X))
And again - not necessarily ALL young ld are like this, but they are likely to show such qualities.
Older beasts grow more serious and possess strong sense of justice and responsibility for their own actions and for the others - and due to this, by many other races of Raekterrna, they are considered undercover protectors and order keepers.

Speaking of abilities.
Originally loupdrakes were able to perform complex magic and truly horrendous by their power spells and take up various magic schools, including Summoning and even Necromancy (which was extremely rare and such individuums were all from the "Dark side of the force"). But the world of Raekterrna has (and still is) undergone global cnanges, caused by the Dead zone's further spreading and sudden "death" of the main source of world's energy, which kept the system whole and working. General decrease of energy occured, along with that, magic by their nature creatures changed a lot, if to speak of their abilities and might.
Along with purely physical ability to breathe fire, loupdrakes still possess the ability to generate their own energy. This ability "activates" automatically after certain age and experience level of the creature and may be developed, in order to increase its generation rate and the overall "capacity". Once it starts, the process is unstoppable and pauses only when "mana" amount reaches the limit, which is individual for every ld.
In the nearest past ld were able to use it for complex and powerful magic, but are no longer able to do so. Basically, it all comes to rough power and some simple magic actions.
How they are able to use this inner resource:
- to boost regeneration;
- to shapeshift (bipedal and human form);
- for primitive "everyday" magic;
- to see auras and sense biofields or dim/ hide their own - especially old and skilful may even become totally invisible (physically as well) for short periods of time;
- to share it with other creatures (for example help other dragon to regenerate or "land" some energy to other magical creature, so it could cast a spell);
- speaking of the attacking abilities - experienced loupdrakes are able to fire bundles of pure energy, powerfulness and size of which depends on the caster's level.
